Counsellor in Training Program

Haliburton Hockey Haven Sports Camp is looking for applicants into its Counsellor in Training(CIT) program. The purpose of this program is to provide youth aspiring to one day become counsellors the opportunity to develop important leadership and interpersonal skills that are needed to mentor future campers attending the camp. CITs will be encouraged to develop a strong rapport with campers, utilize their strengths in all camp activities, and learn the responsibility that is required to be a Hockey Haven camp counsellor.

Eligibility: We are looking for energetic and driven teens between 15-17 years of age in the upcoming 2018 season.

Program Duration: There will be two separate 4 week sessions running this camp season. First one will be July 8th/2018- August 4th/2018. The second will be August 5th/2018- September 1st/2018. Accepted applicants will live and work amongst the counsellors for the duration of their session with a rotating schedule of 1-2 days off per week.

Cost: The cost for the 4-week session is $2000.00. This will encompass all living and food costs, mandatory First Aid & CPR training and certification (this will take place prior to the camp season), and involvement in all daily Director lead sports both in a leadership and training capacity. Up to 80 volunteer hours will given to those accepted into the CIT program.

Accepted applicants will receive a Haliburton Hockey Haven Sports Camp certificate upon completion of their CIT session, as well as a permanent reference for their resume for any future endeavors.
